A week ago we found this little mouse covered in ticks. I find these quite distressing images:

However, now a week further on, I found her back at her nest this afternoon. The ticks have all dropped off and gone on to lead their questionable life cycles elsewhere:

Apart from bald patches where the ticks were, she seems none the worse for her horrible experience and I have put a couple of nuts near her nest as some compensation.
